Bernie Sanders' Political Platform

ALTHOUGH I HAVE YET TO MAKE MY DECISION AS TO WHO TO VOTE FOR, BERNIE IS LOOKING *VERY GOOD* TO ME!

I have been reading Bernie Sanders' political platform information and it is astounding! This is the first time that I've read through everything that Bernie is advocating for and I've got to tell you... it is evolutionary and gutsy!

As I look through the other candidates' information about the issues that they are running on, NO ONE , I mean NO ONE calls it like it is as Bernie Sanders does! When other candidates say that they'd like to raise the wages of our workers or, as Ms. Clinton says in her platform, "A plan to raise American incomes", Bernie's platform on this issue starts right off with the TRUTH;

"INCOME AND WEALTH INEQUALITY"
 "Today, we live in the richest country in the history of the world, but that reality means little because much of that wealth is controlled by a tiny handful of individuals. The issue of wealth and income inequality is the GREAT MORAL issue of our time, it is the great economic issue of our time, and it is the great political issue of our time." (Caps are mine).

In this statement alone, Sanders strips away the bullshit of this issue and tells it like it is! We, Americans, the 99%ers, are being railroaded by this "great" 1% of the population! A "Democracy" isn't a "Democracy" when the wealth and, consequently, the political system, are in the control of, actually, one tenth of one percent of the population!

Sanders makes this connection between the 1% and the political system right there in his "platform". Under the "Issues" section, the third one down ("Income and Wealth Inequality" is the first "Issue") is "Getting Big Money Out of Politics and Restoring Democracy". Bernie explains how "Citizens United", that corrupt campaign finance system that we now have, is ruining our democratic process! He says;

"...the U.S. Supreme Court essentially said to the wealthiest people in this country: you already own much of the American economy. Now, we are going to give you the opportunity to purchase the U.S. Government, the White House, the U.S. Senate, the U.S. House, Governors' seats, legislatures, and State judicial branches as well."

He basically sums it up by saying;

"Let's be honest and acknowledge what we are talking about. We are talking about a rapid movement in this country toward a political system in which a handful of very wealthy people and special interests will determine who gets elected or who does not get elected. That is not what this country is supposed to be about. That was not Abraham Lincoln's vision of a government of the people, by the people and for the people."

Sanders also includes a quote by Jimmy Carter about unlimited money in politics;

"(it) violates  the essence of what made America a great country in it's political system. Now, it's just an oligarchy, with unlimited political BRIBERY (my caps) being the essence of getting the nominations for president or to elect the president... So now we've just seen a complete SUBVERSION (my caps) of our political system as a payoff to major contributors..."

WOW!! That's calling it like it is!!

Call Bernie Sanders a socialist, call him an extreme liberal, I don't care what he is! I'm telling you that he is a realist and he's telling the American electorate that we are getting cheated and scammed by the 1%ers! No one else has the guts to say any of this! Not even Donald Trump!

Right now, as far as I'm concerned, Bernie Sanders is the only candidate who I can call a Patriot because he is willing to put his political career on the line to do what's right for the rest of us 99%ers!

And that's "As I understand it now... 'til it changes".
Please feel free to comment. I enjoy a lively, MATURE conversation.
